Deluge Grander Returns to the Rehearsal Studio
Many thanks to the entire music community for the nice praise for Deluge Grander's first CD. It was a huge success. We are ready and working on new material to offer you. Stay tuned and thanks again for your support.

Dan's Birds & Buildings Kicks Ass.
This is a band you definitely want to go see. The crafty Dan Britton has put together a very talented and intricate project that is now performing throughout the Washington-Baltimore area. They are very good. Go see them.

the Joe Walker Fusion Explosion is Underway
It's been a long time coming, but the ball is in motion now. Joe has created a few sets of very hard-edged and latin-style fusion songs and has been rehearsing for gigs and more recordings at Orion.

Deluge Grander 'August in the Urals' has been Released!!
The album is out and for sale. If you like epic songs filled with passages of beautiful tones, complexity, diversity, and sheer musicianship, you will eat this one up. For an hour of extremely well-crafted music, you can't go wrong with this one.

Solo Projects are Coming Along
The guys in Cerebus Effect are moving forth with great speed and caution. Mike Galway's work on the new Zapotec album is outstanding and very meaty for the fusion people out there. Deluge Grander has been recorded and is awaiting duplication/distribution. It is a spectacular ride through the vast areas of prog.

Five Years Later
Seems like a long time since the performance of Live at Orion five years ago, but the album is still going strong. We continue to sell this one out online, proving that the fans of aggressive keyboard-driven music are still alive and well. Thanks for your support since the release of this debut album!

Cerebus Effect Live in Tokyo
April Fools! Actually, we aren't scheduling gigs currently as we are all on hiatus getting our solo projects finished and beginning to consider our next set of compositions.

New Chaos Code is now available
The latest Chaos Code album, Propaganda, has been completed and is now available for purchase. This epic album showcases great tunes and great production. It features Cliff Phelps (guitar, keys, vox, flute), Gary Curtis (bass), and yours truly on drums.

Solo projects abound
As always, the members of Cerebus Effect are constantly busy with musical endeavors. This year is no different. So, as we do some performing and get ready to write more Cerebus tunes, we are all doing things indepently and collaboratively. Some of this is going to be neat stuff. We'll keep you posted.

It's Done! It's back from the Press! It's ready to be sold!
All we need to do now is get it out to the distributors for sales. In the meantime, if you like the samples and don't want to wait for it to come out in stores near you, email us at prog@cerebuseffect.com. We'll probably even bargain for a price with you (limited time only).

Good demos handed out at NEARFest
We didn't have the packaging and stuff completed, but we did manage to get a bunch of the final copies handed out at NEARFest. I hope you got one. If not, keep checking the website in the next few weeks and you will see how to get a copy of your own. Thanks for all of the great support and comments from the people at NEARFest who have already listened to, and contacted us regarding the new cd, Acts of Deception. Glad you like it!!

Son of a Bitch!
What the hell is the deal with mastering and why is it such a mystical process? Here's my advice to mastering engineers "CONTROL YOUR COMPRESSION AND LISTEN TO THE CD BEFORE AND AFTER YOU WORK ON IT! DON'T SEND SOMETHING BACK THAT SOUNDS WORSE THAN WHAT YOU WERE SENT!" Of course that opinion only applies to me, Patrick, and may not even be correct...but then again, maybe it is!

4-26-2005
Are we done mixing?
Holy mackerel! It might be so. We are done with mixng at Orion Sound Studios and want to get this thing sent off for mastering in time to distribute it at NEARFest '05.

2-17-2005
Is the band on hiatus or just dysfunctional? You be the judge.
OK, that's not a very descriptive subject but we have been moving rather slowly for about a month or so. Most work on the album is done, but mixing is become a handful. We're trying to fine tune for clarity and power.

11-07-2004
Overdubs and Mixing persists.
No doubt about it, Cerebus Effect No. 3 is going to be thick and juicy. The recordings are having lots of overdubs and extra tracks put on them which is enlightening the songs dramatically. Studio time is getting hard to book - and sometimes hard to pay for.

9-21-2004
Still in the Studio!
Part II of our recording process has been going as well as the first session. We think the majority of the drum tracks are usable and most of the rhythm tracks are keepers, too. Mike Potter certainly has had his hands full with these sessions up to this point - and doing a great job, Imight add.

7-18-2004
Back in the Studio!
Yes, we're back at Orion Sound Studios to record tracks for our 3rd album. It has a bunch of goodies on it ranging from fast and furious to epic and structured. Stay tuned for this one, as it has the amazing power of the past with new dimensions added as we move forward. Guaranteed to please!

Here I sit, redoing the web site instead of playing drums. Dan is on vacation; Joe is about town; Mike is preparing for a journey.

At last...the new CD Dark Matter has been released. This is an exciting collection of compositions that we really enjoy. Check out the samples page and enjoy bits of them, then come to one of our shows, and buy your very own copy (or e-mail me for one). Really! We're playing at Orion Sound Studios tomorrow night and will be selling them there for a very small price.

I (Patrick) have been working on new recording techniques in my studio at Orion Sound Studios. After a fair bit of troubleshooting, I currently am having lots of success recording my drums using my Mackie board, microphones, a Sony Vaio laptop, an Echo Audio Layla 24, and Cakewalk's Sonar software. This is an ideal solution for 8-tracking live drum performances as it is light and easy. When I get done, I love to poke around with my compositions on the PC doing .wav editing and other experimental manipulation of the drum takes. When I get done, the other guys have an unlimited number of tracks on which they can record.

9-15-2002
We might be looking for a manager who can help out with tours over seas. Anyone have any ideas?

9-9-2002
We are in the process of writing more songs and toying with the idea of micro-tours through various locations.

9-2-2002
The new CD entitled 'Dark Matter' has been remastered and is soon to be released to the public. Fell free to check out the samples from this production on the Samples and Compositions page of this web site. We like it.
